Tip & How-To about Heating & Cooling

Ac and refrigeration effective maintenace

I recommend to all home and business owners to do quarterly maintenance on your ac and refrigeration equipment. It will save hundreds and even thousands of dollars. I've been a commercial/industrial service tech. for over 9 years and by not cleaning your equipment it creates discomfort for you and slow damage to your equipment. why do this when it takes 20 to 30 minutes to service. AC falls into two types remote or package unit. Remote ac systems has a unit outside and one inside known as your furnace. package units has everything inside and are located outside only. The first thing you want to do is turn power off. I'll start with the outside unit known as your condensor. next take some coil cleaner or simple green and spray it all over the coil and let it stand for ten minutes. use a spray nozzel in the shower position and rinse until water comes out clear. Next locate your air filter it's either in the furnace or hallway inside a register. find out the size and purchase at local hardware store. If they don't have exact size match it to one a little bigger and cut down. Tape cut parts off with duct tape. Restore power and I guarantee you will fill the difference if no problems exhist in system. sometimes unit will go off on safety if dirty all you need to do is turn power off and back on or push reset button on safety located on copper line.

What Is Estimated Tax Payment Calendar?

For Government Income Tax reasons, estimated tax payments are due as listed below:

    ·April 15 (first quarter)
    ·June 15 (second quarter)
    ·September 15 (third quarter)
    ·January 15 (4th quarter)
Note that the January 15 quarterly payment is really due, not within the tax year itself, but early the year after (before your taxes returns). Note that when the date falls on the weekend or holiday it might be extended to another working day.

where is the refrigerant control valve on ac compresser

Check to see if radiator fan is working when you turn on the AC. Anytime the AC is on the radiator fan must be on even if the engine is not hot yet.

Hello, I do not know what area you live, however there hundreds appliance service companies out there. Best thing to do is look in the better business bureau in your area, if you google them or contact them, they normally will have a list of licensed , certified bounded companies that have proven them self enough to be part of there list. Other companies that are trust worthy and pretty good is the subcontractors that Sears uses, home depot, lowers contact one of them and they have there own as well as good recommendations . The contractors they use already been screened. Stay away from cheap drains list adds, and flyers dropped off. Those are normally the ones that are not certified , licensed and bounded. I hope this helps. Mike from fixya.

Compressor is out in my Goodman CK60-1C outdoor unit. Is it better to buy a new compressor or a new unit?

It is completely a matter of preference. Just having the compressor replaced with save you a couple hundred dollars, but it's well worth just throwing in a little more to get a new unit. The biggest thing right now is availability. They have stopped production of R-22 equipment and will continue to make R-22 refrigerant for 10 more years, but for the most part the R-22 equipment is getting scarce and they are bumping up the price whenever possible. The new 410A refrigerant is a better blend but runs at higher pressures and less resistant to cross contamination, which all means, if you can't find another R-22 unit, you would have to get the new 410A unit and will possibly have to replace the indoor coil and/or copper line sets to accommodate the new refrigerant blend and this means even more money. Hope this better explains your options and good luck!
