Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to install anything USB & "Device not recognised"

I see a lot of people are having problems with USB. USB is a wonderful standard. However it does have a habit of getting sorta tangled up, generally in the Windows hives/registry.
I am going to show you how to go about installing ANYTHING USB.
First: NEVER EVER, plug in ya USB device before ya install the Software and Drivers.
Second: After installing software & drivers etc. REBOOT.
Third: NOW, plug in your USB device, it should be detected and automatically install the drivers, OR it will ask where they are, navigate to where the files are kept, and they will install, after it has finished, REBOOT.
NOW you should be all good, and ready to use.
Now if you get at any time, "Device not recognised" first, try another USB port, if that doesn't work, & ya keep getting the message . One thing to try is to go to device manager and TOTALLY remove/uninstall & remove drivers, from ALL USB devices from device manager. then REBOOT.
When windows restarts it will re-install the USB "Layer" all again, all new. Now you can start all again as above.

usb not recognise

unfortunately this happens from general wear and tear.

USB are flash memory - in flash memory cells have a habit of dying this applies to anything with flash memory so phones tablets and solid state drives.

you can attempt to recover it by reformatting the USB from disk management (make sure its the USB you format)

if this doesn't work there is guides on how to do a Low level format and then a high level format but this is a last resort scenario

E6. Motor locked up because the thread is tangled. I have re-threaded machine and bobbin; thread still tangles after 2 or 3 stitches. HELP!

In my Brother CE-4000, it appears as though the feed dogs (which you can change to a higher position or a lower position) are allowing the bobbin case to spin all the way around and then the needle hits the bobbin case. When the feed dogs are in the lowest position, the bobbin case does not spin all the way around when the needle moves up and down (and therefore the needle does not get stuck in the bobbin case. I am wondering if this is a problem with the feed dogs/case?

I have a Bernina 340 Deco embroidery computer. I am having trouble (lots) with the thread looping on top of fabric.

Make sure the bobbin case and shuttle are free from any thread tangles.

Thread with the presser foot up.

If problem persists, the machine will need to go into the shop where an authorized Bernina tech can check the timing and do a general service of the machine.

Take a sample of the mis-stitching.
