Tip & How-To about Heating & Cooling

Attic Insulation and Energy Costs

This short Testimonial is meant to help you save money on your energy costs as I tell you the horror story that I recently went through..

My brother in law recently bought a 2900 square foot house with huge vaulted ceilings and a large Atrium. We started doing rennovations to the house and Mike comes to me and asks me to check out his 2 furnaces. I asked him why, and he explained to me that the 1st 13 days of work we had done cost him $270.00 to heat the house and when he contacted our local gas company, they told him that the winter months cost the previous owners over $600.00/ month. Mike was ready to sell the house. I checked out the furnaces and they were functioning fine. I decided to go into the attic and look to see how much insulation was in the ceiling. What I saw next is something I have never seen in my 20 plus years building houses. There was zero insulation up there. It took many days to roll and blow insulation in the ceiling but first full months gas bill was under $400.00. His case was extreme but it cut a third of his energy costs. Insulation is something that you can do to your home that will start saving you money from the day you put it in, no matter what the season. I also recommend that people install humidifiers into their heating systems and keep them set at 40-45. By adding humidity to the home, you can keep the thermostat turned down and be just as comfortable while saving @ 5% of your energy costs for the month. Good Luck and save that hard earned money.

Crown Capital Eco Management Helping our firms stay competitive by cutting energy costs

Not much said about the details of Crowley's energy reduction venture. This is an ad for the man, not his business. Not to say he is not an interesting guy. But the good news he brings to an energy-strapped globe might just be what we need to make us more conscious about saving the environment.

how many after market crank sensor are there for a 2004 kia rio

Yes, that would be an aftermarket unit. Don't put it on! Take it back and get your money back, and go to dealer-get an oem (original equipment manufacture) sensor. May cost more, but too many horror stories abound with putting sensitive after market sensors on cars. Too often, they just don't work as well as original manufacturer parts. Some things are fine as aftermarket, but I wouldn't recommend electronic parts that communicate with the engine computer.

how to use self cleaning

It would be wise to not use the self clean mode. Many horror storys of controls costing hundreds of dollars to replace come to mind. The delicate electronics cannot stand the 900 degree 3 hour endurance of this. Why not get some green flavored easy off oven cleaner instead and save a lot of money. They have a new and improved easy off citrus based product that is deemed green and mean.
