Puppy Guide for survival (Live Linux) CD USB flash

Puppy Linux is a live linux distribution,
less than 100 MB, which is the main purpose of the use of
CD, USB flash, MP3 Player, camera, etc..
Puppy comes with all codecs and is completely Multimedia ready.
Read and write in NTFS.



1) How to put Puppy on the CD.

1.a) Download Puppy
http://www.puppylinux.com/download/index.html

1.b) Puppy is distributed as an ISO image.
It is necessary to burn it to CD
using the option of your program to burn CDs
Burn CD ISO image (Windows - Nero / Burn Image to Disc, for example)

1.c) Then you need to restart your computer.

1.d) Depending on the options your motherboard,
it is necessary when starting
your computer keyboard press:
F8 or F12 or Esc, etc..
Thus you will appear a menu where you choose your CD drive.
After Puppy menu comes before you.


2) How to put Puppy on a USB flash drive

2.a) Format the USB flash drive in the FAT32 filesystem. (Windows)
(MyComputer, right click on your USB flash drive, Format, File System = FAT32, start)


2.b) Boot Puppy from the CD
Then Menu / Setup / Puppy universal installer
Choose what you need.
Complete the installation process to end.
Restart your computer

2.c) The Puppy Live mode

I have recovery software on an on-line site...files anywhere...If it is not being read correctly, you can download this software by contacting me directly at mewms_14904@verizon.net and I can send you a link, or you can down load a linux distribution called "Puppy" and burn this on a live cd, then boot computer from the cd follow prompts use vesa for vid display, single click on drives, "mount" the usb drive and access the flash drive that way. But easier to just download my recovery software and save all data from usb drive to your hard drive.

Linux can be problematic for the novice.
