1) Are there any programs for Ubuntu
(type: DAEMON Tools, Alcohol or Virtual Disk in Windows)
that will allow me to easily handle my: ISO, IMG, BIN, MDF,NRG , Image files?

My son put Ubuntu on his emachine w3650 and now we can't get it recovered to factory settings. the cdrom is broke and we have a portable one but it wont read the recovery disk. how to we get it restored to factory settings????????

You'll have to take the hard drive out and hook it up to another computer. When you boot the other computer you can go to device manager. Go to disk management. It should appear as un-allocated space (no D:, E:, Etc) You should get the physical not logical location (0,1, Etc) Right click and see if it will give you the option to format or partition. You can then erase and reformat and set it up as a new partition. You can then install you disk onto it in that computer (MAKE SURE NOT TO CHOOSE TO INSTALL ON THE WRONG DRIVE) and then just plug it back into your tower. If you don't have access to another computer then try use a program called WINtoFLASH and create a bootable usb stick. You will then be able to install off the usb flash drive. You will need daemon tools (virtual drive) and a iso of the version of windows that you have on the recovery disk. Here are links. Just load the iso using daemon tools light. Make not of the virtual drive's letter and plug in your usb and make note of it's letter. Run WINtoFLASH and use the wizard and bam... when it's done you're ready to install.
I cannot give a link to a Windows iso but you can google it.

how do you load .bin files from franklm to pc?

Unlike .exe or .doc, .bin files are universal and there isn't one program they relate too. You might find Alcohol 120%, ISO Buster, or Nero to be useful and able to open a .bin file. The other option would be to use a program like Daemon-tools to act as a virtual CD ROM. If the bin file is containing data only, a text or hex editor like Ultra Edit might also work.

i cannot mount any disk images in windows 7 as nero, deamon tools, alcohol120 cannot be installed. please tell me some way out of this.

ive just been on deamen tools website and they dont support beta operating systems so bassically

for deamen tools you will have to wait till next month when it comes out

if you dont believe me

the programs you mentioned were free open source bits of software so i doubt they will support it till it is fully released to the public

good luck
