Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to attach pictures to appear in Yahoo mail

Some are having a hard time emailing a picture to recipients using yahoo email. They want the exact picture to show in the body of the message but somehow cannot do it and end up just attaching the image as file.

The fact is, you can only be able to place pictures which is already uploaded in the internet. In other words, the image that you want to place inside the body of the email should have a static URL or the exact web address of that particular image file. To explain this further, open your yahoo email and compose a new email.

Take for example you're going to insert this image in the body of your message:
http://www.laptopviews.com/assets/dell-xps-m1330-laptop.jpg

You need to select the image to HIGHLIGHT the picture. Click at the end of the image and drag to the left to highlight the image just like what is shown below.

Once the image is selected, press ctrl + c to copy. Do not right click on the image to choose copy because that wont work.

Now, go back to your new message in your yahoo mail and right click on the area where you want to paste it and then choose paste.

That's it!

can't get most of my attachments to appear

With the Web-based Yahoo! Mail service, you can attach to your email message a saved Web page or another document in HyperText Markup Language format.
When you attach an HTML file in this way, Yahoo! Mail won't display the HTML content of the attached file in the email message body.
To view the attachment, you must click the attachment tab above the email message.Yahoo! Mail and HTML
Yahoo! Mail is a Web-based service and it's fully compatible with the coding languages used to design and display Web content, including HTML and XML, Extensible Markup Language.
This means emails sent or received in Rich text or HTML format include clickable hyperlinks, graphics and other Web design elements.
However, Yahoo! handles emails with HTML attachments in a different way to email messages formatted with HTML.

About Yahoo! Mail Attachments
Like most email programs and online services, Yahoo! Mail offers an attachment feature for adding images, video clips, audio files and HTML document to email messages.
Some email programs display the content of the attached file in the email message body, but Yahoo! Mail doesn't provide this feature for any file attachment, whether it's an image, video clip or HTML document.

Viewing Yahoo! Mail Attachments When you attach an HTML document or another file to your Yahoo! Mail message, an "Attachments" button labeled with a "Paperclip" icon appears below the email address fields and above the email message body.
Clicking the "Attachments" button opens a pane containing a list of all files attached to the email. The email sender or recipient can open each attachment to view the files by clicking the file name.

Considerations

When sending a Yahoo! Mail with an attachment, always explain the content of the attachment in the main body of the email message.
A brief explanation will encourage the recipient to click and open the attachment to view the HTML document.
Bear in mind that many email services automatically block HTML attachments because of the security risk of opening HTML files, which can contain viruses, phishing scams or open Web pages with inappropriate content.
If you want to share a favorite Web page with a friend or contact, include a hyperlink to the Web page rather than a saved copy as an HTML attachment.

I recently switched to Yahoo but I cannot seem to attach any pictures.. hat am I doing wrong?

Share photos through the Internet the same way you would share other news - in a Yahoo! email message.
Yahoo! Mail may be your go-to choice for text emails, but the free email program also offers the ability to attach photos with your messages.
There's no additional charge to send photos with Yahoo!, though the more photos you attach, the more time it may take for your email to get to the recipient.

Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.
Click the "New" button. If prompted, click "New Email Message."

Enter the recipient's name into the "To" field, or click the "To" link and select the name from your Contacts folder.
Enter a subject line and type a message into the body section of the email window.
Click the "Attach Files" button.
Click the "Browse" button to the right of "File 1."
Go to the first picture to include and double-click it.
This lists the file path in the "File 1" box.

Click the "Browse" button for "File 2" and repeat the process.
To attach more than five pictures, click the "Attach More Files" link.

Click the "Attach Files" button.
Depending upon your computer's speed and the files' size, it may take a few seconds to a few minutes to complete the attachment process.

Click the "Send" button to send the photos.

trying to send an email to germany and they cannot recieve the email what do i do

Hello Marianne,
make sure that the attachments (if any) are not too large since some email services do not allow those.
In some cases, an email containing potentially offensive vocabulary can be rejected automatically.
Make sure that your recipient looked in his junk email folder and also that he did not block messages coming from Yahoo.
If those steps do not solve your issue, please tell me which email service is your recipient using.
Regards,
