Tip & How-To about Refrigerators

Maintaining your refridgerator for longer life

You should clean the back of the refridgerator and vacum it at least one a year, pull it out and clean under it and vacum the back of it, then pull off the cover on the front bottom of the fridge if the coil are underneath, purchase an appliance brush for refridgerators at any hardware store, there not expensive and clean the coils under the fridge, clean in between the black coils and pull out the dust and dirt, then vacum once you get out what you can with the brush, this needs to be done at least once a year for the best perfomance for your fridge and longer life of it......unplug the fridge before you start, the cleaner the coils the cooler the fridge will be and also will use less energy to run......when its dirty it has to work very hard to cool........make sure you unplug the fridge before you start.......hope this helps......

I have a Twin Air 300 fridge - about four year's old - lately the section where one keeps milk (on the side shelf) is obviously not cold enough as milk and butter keep going off. I have adjusted the control from medium to colder - is there anything else I can do or do I need a new fridge. Vegetables have also been going off quicker.

You could try cleaning the condensor coils. They are located under the fridge to clean you have to pull the fridge out, remove the bottem grill on the front and back and vacum or blow all the lint off of the coils. Hope this helps if so give us a 4 thumbs up.THANKS

American fridge/freezer - fridge stopped cooling, freezer side ok

Have you pulled out the refrigerator and cleaned or used a vacum cleaner to get out the dirt and dust off the back of the coils, or if the coils are underneath, you need to get an inexpensive appliance brush for fridge, and clean the coils under the fridge, pull off the panel on the front bottom of the fridge, get a flash light and look to see if the coils are covered in dust....may just need to vacum and use appliance brush underneath...this should be done at least one a year, you will notice your fridge running much better and cooling back to normal.......hope this helps......
