Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Tabbed Browsing Tip

With the introduction of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 all major browsers now support tabbed browsing. Below are various tips to improve your browsing using tabs.

1. Clicking on any link with your middle mouse button or wheel will open that link in a new tab. Alternatively you can hold down your CTRL key in IE and Firefox and click a link to open that link in a new tab.
2. Clicking on an open tab with your middle mouse button will close that tab.
3. Mozilla Firefox users can middle-click the back button to open a previous page in a new tab.
4. Pressing CTRL + T will open a new tab in IE, Firefox, and Opera.
5. Pressing CTRL + Shift + T will undo the closed tab. Alternatively right clicking on a portion of the tab bar will also display this option.
6. Firefox and IE users can hold down CTRL and press 1 through 0 on their keyboard to open that respected tab.
7. Right-clicking the active tab will give you an option to close all other non-active tabs.

Hope this will be a useful tip.

Thanks & Regards
Nandu :)

stopping browsing history

Step 1:
Stop Web History on Internet Explorer b> Every time you visit a website, the web address, date and time of your visit is recorded in your Web browser history. The length of time this information is saved varies depending on what browser is used. If privacy is a concern, popular browsers such as Firefox and Internet Explorer offer enhanced privacy features that allow you to prevent your browser history from being stored.

Update your Web browser to the latest version of the product. Browser updates often include important security patches. Automatically clear your browser history each time you exit. In Firefox, this option is located under "Tools" and "Options." Select the "Privacy" tab and check the box marked "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox." If you're using Internet Explorer, click on "Tools" and "Internet Options" and check "Delete browsing history on exit." Use private browsing if your browser supports it. Private browsing prevents your browser from storing any information about your browsing history, including cookies, temporary Internet files and history. Pressing CTRL+Shift+P on your keyboard will activate private browsing mode in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. It can also be accessed in Firefox by clicking "Tools" and selecting "Start Private Browsing," and in Internet Explorer by clicking "Safety" and selecting "InPrivate Browsing." Private browsing must be activated each time you open your browser.

You could have a slow internet connection, malware and spyware. Or need to clean your internet files to speed up your internet browser. Try downloading, installing and running ccleaner and spybot

'Internet Explorer Multible Windows Opened

Hi,
Try using tabbed browsing instead, then all your 'windows' are now tabs within your browser.
Enable or disable the tabs in Internet Explorer 7.
1. In IE7 click Tools, and select Internet Options.
2. Select the General tab.
3. In the Tabs section, click Settings.
4. Uncheck Enable Tabbed Browsing to disable the tabs. Check it to enable tabs.

Hope this helps

Internet Explorer 7 Uninstall

Microsoft has finally released Internet Explorer 7. It has some nice features including a revised interface, tabbed browsing, improved printing features, and a phishing filter. However, during the time between the releases of IE6 and IE7, other companies have produced browsers that have similar or better features and many customers have started using these browsers like Firefox, Opera, Avant and others.
Unfortunately instead of just offering Internet Explorer 7 as an optional download, they are pushing it to customers via the Automatic Windows Update. Which means you may wake up one day soon, after leaving your computer on, and have a brand new browser replacing Internet Explorer 6.0. This may seem fine for most people, however many people are simply resistant to much change and will find using IE7 more difficult than just using their current browser to surf the web. In these cases, you'll want to know how to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 and keep it off your computer.
