How To Fix A Scratched CD,DVD,Rom,Disk ect

hi, how well does your daughter look after her games? if her disk's have scratches on them the xbox will have trouble reading it and will often do this. another cause is that the xbox is old the laser will be worn out and will take ages to load a game.

the 2 solutions are:
1. check the disk, if it is highly scratched go get it cleaned, most gaming stores will do it for a small fee
2. take apart the xbox (only if out of warranty and step-by-step instructions can be found on youtube) and clean it gently with a duster

if other games run ok then
1. if your xbox says OPEN TRAY then its mw2 disk problem may b scratch on disk.clean the disk
2. if you have a moded xbox and other games run and mw2 is not and your xbox says PLAY DVD you need to update your flashing to wave 4

Check to see if there are any scratches on the disc. Scratches or marks on discs will render game discs unplayable or will freeze the game and will often show a message stating “Disc Read Error” or something to that effect. Best remedy for starters, is to clean the discs and make sure there are no scratches or marks left on the play-side of the discs. you can clean the disks using tap water and then drying with soft cloth have you tried a lense cleaner to clean the laser on the cube get a good brand one not a cheap one also you can buy a disk cleaner that gently takes the scratches out of cds and gets them as new but you will have to shop around to get one but these work on anything cd dvd games the lot so deff worth having one as lots of people throw out dvds cd and games due to the scratches stopping them working but remember the data on a disk isnt on the plastic it is on the layey the other side of plastic the plastic is their to protect the data getting damaged so removing the scratches does not damage the disk if you have scratches this will affect the disk because the laser cant read through the scratch so polishing these scratches out will make the disk as new not many people know you can do this so consider yourself having privalaged info hope this is some help to you but you might have to ask arround for a disk repair so good luck you could even charge people to repair their disks and games this works for anything on a cd style disk.........................................................
