Dark speck on processor

It may be the temperature problem. If the heatsink and the fan does not sit tight on processor the heat from the processor will not be dissipated properly and the heat rises up and the processor shuts off as soon as it starts working. So please see that the heat sink and the fan on the mother board sits tight. Also apply heatsink paste on the surface of the processor which comes in to contact with the heatsink. It comes filled in Syringe and retails around Rs.10-20 only. I think it will solve your shotdown problem.

How to overcome overheating issue in my desktop?

Depends on what's overheating. If it's you processor you have to replace the thermal paste between the heat sink and the processor, if it's the ram you need to make sure it has proper ventilation, if it's the hard-drives the same etc. You need to be more specific.

Hi,
If you don't install the heat sink and fan carefully you could blow out your processor. Make sure you clean all the old heat sink paste from the processor and the heat sink. Then apply a thin layer of paste like "arctic silver" on the heat sink so that it makes full contact with the processor. I think you have a socket A processor...so do a google search for "installing a socket A processor" and you should have all the info you need. Good Luck...Hank
