Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies

Blocked heads on an Epson inkjet

If after cleaning the heads on your Epson printer, if you still have that stubborn blocked nozzle, do another head clean, then do NOTHING with the printer - nozzle check etc - leave the power on to the printer and leave it overnight. The head will have been set into the head cleaning park position and will soak overnight in a bath of ink. This can loosen and soften the ink in the blocked nozzle. Now do another head clean and most reluctant blockages will be cleared.

Blocked print head nozzles
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required.

I've just replaced the black ink cartridge for my Epson Stylus TX100, ink level is ok as the indicator shows. But i get blank prints for black, other colors are fine. What's wrong with the black ink cartridge?

There is nothing wrong with the black ink. Just run the head cleaning for better printing.

1. Go to printer and faxes
2. Right click your printer ( Epson Stylus Multifunction Printer/ Copier/ Scanner InkJet)
3. Click printing preferences
4. Click Maintenance Tab
5. Click Head Cleaning
6. Run head cleaning for 5 times then try printing.

Epson RX650 with a G5 Mac. Printing beautifully, now pgs are blank

It definately sounds like blocked print heads, try head cleaning 4 or 5 times, leave overnight and try another 4 or 5 times the next day. This usually works, if not you will need to try something a little bit stronger. Try this link:

Blocked print heads are more far more common if you are using non-genuine Epson inks. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Epson C84 inkjet

This typically is not an issue with re-fill cartridges, but it could be. At this point, if you have replaced the cartridges, ran cleaning cycles AND called Epson, that's all you can do. I would advise just replacing the unit as it's too expensive to fix.
