How To Fix verheating Computers?

Let's talk about how to fix overheating computers. If your computer is overheating, there's a few simple things you may be able to do, to help alleviate the problem. Sometimes, even on a brand new computer, if it's running and functioning completely perfectly, it may still overheat, depending on where it's actually placed, in your home or office. A lot of times if it's placed in a small, compact space, where there's not a lot of air flow around it, for instance underneath a desk, or to the side of a desk, up against a wall, or even sometimes next to a window, where sunlight is allowed to come through the window, and hit the computer directly. Those are things that can cause the system to overheat, that aren't actually problems with the system itself. It's just a question of placement. For those types of scenarios, I would take the computer, and place it in a more open space, or place away from windows, and get it to where it can solve the overheating problem on it's own, just by simply moving it. Now, if that's not your case, and your system is overheating, and it's in an open environment already, then I would take a look at the system. If you turn the computer off, and remove the side panel, or case off of the computer, to take a look at it. You can observe, once you turn it back on, if there's any fans inside, that aren't spinning or aren't turning, or if there's a fan that you can notice that's spinning very slowly, you can determine that that fan is probably going out. Most of the time, if a fan is going out, it will make a noise, as well, almost like bicycle spokes, with a playing card on them. If you've determined that one of those fans inside the computer is bad or faulty, then you can simply replace it, by taking it to a local computer store, or by purchasing the fans from a local electronics or computer store, and replacing the fan yourself. Also, if your fans are spinning fine. You've got it in an open area, but for some reason it's still overheating. Then, the approach I would take, is to add fans to your computer. There's normally a place on your computer, to add what they call a Secondary Case Fan, or even a Third Case Fan. You can purchase these again, from a local electronics or computer store, and add that fan to your computer, for normally five to twenty dollars. That's the best way to fix an overheating computer."

93 Honda accord overheating. New radiator, compressor, thermostat. Fans are not coming on. AC does not engage at all. Fluids Ok. Heater does work. Just got it back from shop. Help!

If you can trust your mechanic he should guarantee that it works for that kind of money. I would talk to him and let him know what it is doing. Do not get angry when telling him and just maybe he can fix it. It could be a simple fix. I have had things like that happen .If a computer is involved might be a sensor.

what makes a computer run so slow? first of all I am not computer saavy. It may be something simple. If there is a simple solution, plz describe in simple laymans terms. Thx!

There are a million things that cause computers to run slow. Few are "simple" to fix.

Here is what I want you to do. Go to this site: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download and download a program called CCleaner. Follow the instructions on the screen. When you have the free program on your computer, run it. This program will clean all the unnecessary stuff from your computer which will speed it up a little bit.

If you want to do other things, you should defrag your computer. If you are using a Windows operating system, you can do this by clicking on "my computer". Find your hard drive which should be identified as "C". Right click on the C drive, select Properties. Click on the tab that says Tools. You will see a tool that says Defragmentation. Click on defragment and let the computer work. This process may take a few minutes to several hours ... let it complete the defrag before you do anything else.

Run the CCleaner at least one time per month. The Defragger should be run about the same.

I hope this helps you with your problem. If you found these remarks helpful, the courtesy of a kind word and a positive vote will be appreciated.

Thank you and thank you for your interest in FixYa.com

when i boot up my computer, the yellow light at the power button for my monitor keeps on blinking for around 5 minutes before anything appears on the screen.

Simple test: try to boot using another monitor; if it's the same then the booting process in your pc is seriously screwed-up - fix it; if not, your monitor is dying, try to fix it or replace it.

You need to check your fan at the processor, and make sure it's working.
also , make sure you have plenty of air circulating inside the tower, something is overheating.
either your processor or a hard drive is over heating.

several reasons for this.

1:) CPU Overheating.
2:) RAM Overheating.
3:) Motherboard Component Overheating.
4:) FAN not operating correctly.

These are a few things that can shutdown a computer after a few minutes, also viruses/trojans et,c.
can shut off hard-drives. and even instruct the bios to change settings.

Check that the CPU And case fans work correctly.
