My router works when connected as wireless, but when I connect an ethernet cable to this, it does not work. This is required as I am trying to connect a network hard drive via the ethernet connection.

Hi. I suggest you double check first if the ethernet cable you're using is a known good cable if yes then that should be on your router configuration that enables you to use the ethernet cable, so I think you need to contact your Internet Service Provider regarding this matter because by default you should have the access using the ethernet cable, and they'll be the one to configure your router. Hope this helps

connect D-Link DWL-G700AP to dreambox decoder

you can connect to your box via FTP via a crossover cable. If you can’t, you might want to read up on that before attempting this.
Now, what we’ll need is…
Ethernet cable (crossover or patch)
Router
Modem
We’ll also assume that you have a router (wireless or not) and that your modem is connected to the ‘Internet’ or ‘WAN’ port.
If you have a free port on your wireless router, you can connect your dreambox to this. Use the ethernet cable (crossover or patch, most modern routers will accept either) connect one end to your dreambox and one end to a free port on your router. You don’t need to change any settings on your router or PC.
Over to the dreambox. Navigate to the networking page on your dreambox.

my computer wont connect to the internet i need a lan card how do i get this

Lan Card commonly called the NIC is installed on most of the computer. You might have one but may be you need the drivers to get it work. Let me know what is the model of you computer. If you do not have the NIC card you can buy either the PCI Network card or also you can find the USB Network card for you to be able to connect to the Internet.

I just got a Linksys WRT160N router. I cannot connect to the internet using the ethernet port in my pc. I can, however connect via a wireless card in a USB port. I can also use my digital video phone. When I run cmd - ipconfig/all this is what I get: Windows IP Configuration Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : mpg Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . : Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Broadcast IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : Yes WINS Proxy Enabled. . . . . . . . : No Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-50-2C-02-B0-97 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 4: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : IEEE 802.11g USB Wireless LAN #4 Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-11-A3-00-41-87 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.103 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 209.18.47.61 209.18.47.62 Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Tuesday, August 11, 2009 9:05:27 PM Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Wednesday, August 12, 2009 9:05:27 PM I can successfully ping 192.168.0.1 as well as 192.168.1.103 It seems that the problem must exist with my ethernet port/driver...correct?

Is your ReplayTV and Xbox configured to use DHCP? If not, you may need to configure static IP addresses for each of them.
