Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Laptop battery life tip

Extend your battery life on your laptop, do not leave it plugged in and charging all of the time. When a laptop is constantly charging, it will deplete the cells on the battery. Two ways to combat this, charge your laptop fully and remove the battery while it is plugged in, or you can run your laptop on battery power a few times a week until the battery dies.

does leaving my camera on the charger kill the battery?

Hey there,
The answer is yes. The life of your battery is shortened every time you charge it. If you leave it on the charger, it will stop charging when full, but constantly attempt to top it up to full charge.
The best way to extend the life of your battery is to charge once the battery is near depleted.

my laptop doesn't read the battery? what could be the problem?

First, check to make sure the battery is properly inserted.

Second, how old is your laptop? Batteries in laptops only have a certain lifespan. If you leave the battery in the laptop for prolonged periods of time while it is plugged in charging and the battery is at 100%, the life span will significantly degrade over time due to the constant charge/discharge.
