Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Your PC is locked up and you can't open

If even your bios are having passwords that you cannot open because you lost the passwords, and granting you cannot get into the safe mode, try to unplug all connection to power outlets then open the CPU and look for bios battery. Take it out and put it back in 10 sec after. And presto!!! your computer is set to no password. :-P

Thanks...

Hello,
There is actually no easy fix about this issue. Not even a possible way of bypassing the BIOS password. Normally re-flashing the BIOS software should fix it but it is done by the manufacturer and thus these kind of problems are normally tagged or considered tampering.

Lost bios password on toshiba satellite P305D-S8836

Lost BIOS password?
If you can remember, it will be much better,
If not, try rebooting in safe mode as administrator(hold down F8).
Else you need to put a second disk in another PC and run some password reset utility likeWindows Password Recovery Basic. http://www.windowspasswordrecovery.net/

If all these can't solve the problem, you have to reinstall the PC.

need help logging into computer without passcode

If this is WindowsXP, reboot the computer in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8 repeated as the computer starts up. You will be presented with different "modes" to start windows in. Choose 'Safe Mode". Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes). You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrator's account and will be able to reset the lost password. Just click the administrator user account or any account, and then click Reset Password.
