Apparently Emerson has acknowledged that a large number of these have defective clocks (it locks up and wont advance). However, they won't take responsibility and repair them (it's now an "old model"), and as of yet I have found no decent info on the repair.
Did you find this Tip Helpful?

Not just Emerson, all products made by FUNAI Corp., which also includes Sylvania and Symphonic. Before buying any electronic item, demand to look at the manual for support information. If you see FUNAI, don't buy! I made the mistake of buying a Sylvania HDRV200F before checking to see who made it. When the clock stopped, as most have, it was out of warranty(90 days). Their phone support line only deals with set-up and operation issues, and they only have a FAX number to give out for parts, which is where Tech. Support supposedly is. E-mail requests for Tech Support go to the same phone support people, with a reply to use FAX!!! FUNAI is not a high tech company! Video Forums are awash with these failed clock reports, with no reported cure. If FUNAI had any employees with a sense of pride, they could at least come forward with a description of the repair and part(s) involved. I've contacted 3 local repair shops and they all recommended replacement, as they have had poor FUNAI support themselves!
