Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Restarting of Your laptop.

In case your laptop hangs please do not restart your desktop immediately as this can lead to having bad sectors on your hard disk and all the data stored there could get corrupted or lead to a hard disk crash or can also blowup your power supply. Further if the system is doing a scan of your hard disk do not skip this operation as in some cases it can repair minor problems caused.

BAD SECTORS
When a hard drive has bad read/write sectors it means the magnetic oxide layer on the disc platters are failing. Before you made an image of the hard drive you should have ran Error Check on the C Drive. This checks and locates the bad sectors and moves the data to an undamaged part of the disc platters and then locks out that bad sector so data cannot be written on the bad sector.
I recommend you do a fresh Windows install on your new hard drive to fix this problem and install the laptop's device drivers plus your programs and data before the hard disk fails completely.

BAD SECTORS

Your hard drive is divided into bits called sectors. When these sectors start to go bad, that means that the computer cannot read or write any data on those sectors. You cannot remove bad sectors and once you start seeing bad sectors it is a sign that your hard drive is about to crash permanently so you need to replace your hard drive and make sure you back up all ofyour important data immediately.
