Tip & How-To about Heating & Cooling

Does your A/C coil freeze up?

This is actually something that causes more service calls than actual failures. Those who do not have the knowledge to fix it has to make that dreaded call to the a/c man. I'm going to give you a tip that can save you that very call.

Change your filter every time you pay the power bill. Why? Because the dust in our homes can fill the filter and slow the air flow. Slowing the air flow will cause the coils to freeze over and then no air will flow through the vents. This can also damage the compressor. That's an expensive repair.
It can actually be as much as $3000.00 on a small house. I really hope that this helps you save that call for when you need it. Hope this helps everybody.

thanks for listening

cost to rebuild 2003 overland engine

Cost to rebuild depends largely upon what exactly failed in order to need a rebuild.(which parts failed, what else is worn etc) There are many benefits to a good rebuild, the primary one is that once used, the actual casting has moved around and taken a set, making any machine work more accurate and less likely to change with use.
The drawback is that if there was a bearing or other failure that generated metal debris, unless the block is flushed out completely, that debris will eventually find it's way to a major component and cause another failure. Then, there is the actual quality of the work itself...that depends upon the knowledge and ethics of the rebuilder.
In most cases, you are better off finding a low mile engine from a scrap yard or buying a replacement engine from the factory (called a crate engine) Labor for R&R depends upon prevailing rate in your area.
You have much more to think about besides cost!!!

works for a min. beeps and shuts off

That sounds to me like that dreaded YLOD problem. There's a fix for this, is you know what you are doing. Otherwise, you might need the help of someone more tech savvy. The process is called reflowing. You can probably find more info on this subject if you google it. I can tell you this, there are a few mom and pop PS3 repair operations out there, that will charge you half or less than what sony would charge you. I believe they just swap out the mother board. I don't know that for certain tho. I am actually one of those people that had the knowledge and tech experience to fix one. Got one on the work bench now, actually. :) Best case scenario, if you have a warranty still on your system, let Sony handle it. Hope this helps!

my xbox360 turns on but does not show on the television

The problem you are experiencing is closely related to the dreaded RROD (Red Ring of Death). It has the same causes and solutions. I suggest getting an experienced person to repair your console for you. Take care that no one is doing the "Towel Trick" instead of an actual repair.

I run an electronics repair business and would be happy to fix your machine for you, email me at Jordan@jordanselectronics.com for more info
