after installing windows 7 the sound drives were not working , no sound

Hi,

Check Device Manager to for any "unknown devices", your audio device driver might be one of those. Unknown devices usually appears if the device driver (ex. audio driver) is not installed. You can also find an "exclamation point" under "Sound, video and game controllers" if there is conflict on the driver causing no audio to be heard from the unit.

To resolve the issue, you can either use the Drivers installation disc which came with the motherboard or Right-click on the "unknown device" and select "Update driver" button.

For pc users who doesn't know how to check device manager, follow below steps:

Windows XP
- Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc on the box then hit enter key. or you can also
- Start > Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager

Windows Vista and 7
- Start > type devmgmt.msc on the search box then hit enter key or
- Start > Right-click Computer > System Properties > Device Manager (link at the left pane)

Hope this helps.
