Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

How to reset BIOS password?

Turn off computer and unplug from power. You should open the case of the CPU. Look for the jumper pins near the button cell/battery and insert a jumper pin for at least 10 seconds. Be careful not to touch any part or you might risk damaging sensitive electronic parts due to Electro Static Discharge (ESD).

You may also remove the battery for 10 seconds then re-insert it.

Hope this helps.

System is saying that CPU fan has failed and shuts system down. I just replaced the fan and heat sync it is still saying this.

Thermal paste is applied between the heatsink and the cpu heat spreader or die. If you removed the heatsink to replace the fan you should have applied new thermal paste to the cpu or you may have burned it up. Try clearing the bios like dageezer said. Look for a jumper pin near the onboard battery to clear the cmos.

I forgot a password bios ? I NEET HELP

You need to reset your bios.
To reset your bios, power down your computer, unplug power cable.
open the chassis and find the jumper that labeled clrtc1 near the button battery. First remove the battery. move the jumper cap from pin 1-2 to 2-3. Keep the jumper cap there for 5 ~ 10 seconds. Then put back to pin 1-2. Replace the battery. Plug the power and turn on the computer.

PC won't turn on

What you need to do is reset the bios. If it wont void a warranty..and don't blame me if you ruin your computer, even though this is completly safe.

Unplug your power supply, push thepower button to get rid of extra saved up juice, then take you side panel off and locate your cmos jumper near the battery. You need to position the jumper on 2 of the pins and keep it there for 8 secs. Then put your jumper to origional position and restart your computer. You will have to reset your time and all of your bios settings. YOu can load optimal defaults if you arn't sure what to select.
