Tip & How-To about Cameras

Downloading picuters directly from your digital camera SD or XD card.

You can purchase a Targus card reader from Walmart which will plug into a USB connector on your computer. Directions on it's usage are included with the card reader. The package says it is compatible with SDHC SD/MMC, XD, Memory Stick, Pro Duo, and Magic Gate.I ran into a problem with the Targus TGR-CRD25 when trying to read an XD or SD memory card 1GB or bigger. Targus fixed it with a note on their web site: To operate plug card reader into
the USB port, go into "My Computer", click "Removeable disk drive", insert your memory card into the card slot and upload your data. Please remove your memory card before disconnecting the card reader.

how to download pictures from targus card reader to computer

Connect the card reader to your computer's USB port, then insert the memory card into the appropriate slot. Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com )

how do I use the memory stick of a Sony Ericsson K750i camera to my computer. What additional items must I purchase to transfer my photos?

If the camera does not have a USB connector to attach to the computer, you need a card reader, thay are about £5, check amazon.com.Try this one http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-Flash-Memory-Reader-ZE-CR201/dp/B001T9N0R6/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1283683752&sr=8-12
If you do have a cable to connect the phone to the pc, you may just be able to plug this in and browse the phone for files to download.

I have a Kodak M893-IS digital camera. Suddenly

You can try getting an SD card reader with a USB connection. The computer will treat this as another input. You should see a file folder with JPG files in it. This will be your pictures. Just do a "copy" to another file on your computer. Several companys make these card readers. 2 are Vargus and Lexar. I purchased one for my wife's camera the other day at Walmart. It was a "Targus High Speed SD/SDHC Card Reader/Writer". It was around $8.

I HAVE AN OLYMPUS MASTER (FE-190 )AND I HAVE LOST SERIAL NUMBER

I looked up the FE-190 and it says it uses XD Memory Cards not discs. Several companys make a card reader that plug into the USB connector
on computers. 2 are Targus and Lexar. You could probable find an XD card reader at Walmart or Radio Shack. The XD memory card will then show up
on your computer screen as a regular folder that contains JPG files, which are the pictures.
