If you have ever had the problem where your digital camera lens is in the out position and won't pop back in. This happens sometimes if the gear which retracts the lens gets stuck. I can't guarantee that this will work for all cases. If the gear is stripped or there is a more serious problem it may not work.
What you want to do is to tap sternly on the camera body. Don't bang it against something hard or the body may crack. Just give it a good wrap with the flat of your hand. I have used this technique a few times to unstick stuck lenses.
