Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Help my screen turns funny colors!

In Most cases, when this happens and you touch the screen, it changes to all sorts of colors. The solution for this is very simple and easy to do

Re-Insert the cable
Take the cable out and look at it to make sure there are no bent pins or damage from both the computer and the screen, and re-insert it. Most times this will fix your issue

Change the Screens Color settings
Check that the screen hasn't changed to something, the easiest way to fix this is to restore it to its default service. To find out more infromation on how to get the setting of your individual screen, click here to access google and type in * Screen menu

*Replace the text with your screens brand name IE: Phillips

Change the Computers color settings
This one is more tricky to explain as it depends on the graphics you are using, for more information on this please send me a request with what graphics you are using, for example nVidia, ATi or one provided by the motherboard maker

how to change touch screen on panasonic dpc213

assuming you've got the replacement part it should be as easy as disassembling/removing the cover or any plastic panneling (most of the time its pop off) then slowly lift the screen which will be connected by a floating ribbon. Disconnect that ribbon and lift away screen. Reinstall new screen in reverse order.

The outer paneling is purely for protection and will either be screw-off or pop-off. The rest is making your way to the screen area and lifting it to access the data ribbon. ENSURE copier is not plugged in or on a battery while troubleshooting and do not touch any other circuitry without proper safety gear because any capacitors in the system will still have charge.

I have a Sony, 54" Projection Screen HDTV that I bought in 2002. I believe it is a 1080i. When I am waatching TV, I notice that when the screen is mostly black, for instance a night scene, the black areas change to a blue hue. This seems to wash out the picture as well. If the screen is showing bright colors, the picture is fine. Can someone tell me what might be going on here and how to fix it?

Confirm the actual model number as the one indicated in the title is not HD.

Some of these sets had bad picture tubes that on a black screen or blank video input may in your case show faint curved lines and or some color (red, green or blue) present in the background.

If this is the case there is a fairly simple way to attempt to adjust something for this--not in the customer menu but fairly easy to get at and try.

Most of these sets were KP51ws500, 57500 etc.

I just changed ink cartridges in my printer. I

Are these refilled cartridges? They could be bad, if they are you may want to try to purchase new ones. Also just in case, make sure they are in the right slots, color in the color slot, black in the black slot. I know it sounds simple, but you'd be surprised how often this happens.

problem

I hope for your sake I'm wrong but i'm pretty sure this is a hardware problem, not software.

You will need to take it to a shop and get the touch screen changed.

If your tech savvy its quite easy to change yourself, the hardest part is getting the iphone open. If you can do that without damaging the case, the screen is easy to change. You can get them cheap on ebay. Just go to ebay and search iphone touch screen replacement.

Problems with subtly changing colors

What connection are you using, HDMI or component?

Also, on what source is the problem happening, through sat or through off air antenna?

If you're on HDMI I'd try component. Then, playback the affected video and see if it's reproduced w/ component.

If it's on ota only, you may have a loose tuner cable inside. It's easy to fix, you need a torx t-10 screwdriver. Unplug the unit, take the 5 torx screws off of the back cover, and on the right side you'll see 2 cables running from tuners in the front to a splitter that connects to the tuner for ota on the back right. Just make sure the connections are tight with your hands only, don't over tighten them. Also, make sure you don't touch the power supply when you have the unit open!
