Tip & How-To about Office Equipment & Supplies
With the advent of Windows 7, some manufacturers have not created specific software to run their products properly on Win 7.
This recently happened to me, with my new G-3110 scanner.
The setup disc had no instructions/drivers for Win 7, and HP indicated to me that the driver set would not be available for another month or two.
The tip here, is as follows:
Go to the HP website, find the 'full setup' software download option for the G-3110, and download it.
After the DL is complete, right click on the icon for the file you just downloaded, and run the setup in 'Compatibility Mode'. You may or may not have choices. At this moment, Vista and XP both will be viable choices for the install in the Compatibility Mode, for Win 7...
Hope this helps some people out, until HP releases the proper software for Windows 7.
Addendum to this tip, written on January 21, 2010...
HP has FINALLY added Windows 7 drivers and software to their site., You can now download the software for the HP G-3110 scanner online. Go to www.hp..com, and choose the Download drop down box; input the G-3110 scanner and performa and run the download.
If this helps anyone, a click on the VERY HELPFUL icon would be appreciated!!! Thanks! .
