LCD Flat Screen Common Problems

Have you ever wanted to know what causes a nice LCD to give out so soon?

Poor electronics components such as Capacitors. I will tell you how to spot a bad capacitor in your failing tv.

1. Caution before opening any unit you want to be very careful as there is high voltage inside these units.

2. Make sure you not voiding any warranties by conducting such work.

3. Open up the back of the TV and inspect your boards inside Bad capacitors would be puffed up and swollen.

4. When you see a capacitor like the pictures blow you want to replace them as this is causing your malfunction.

5. Replace only with the same UF and Voltage ratings this will ensure that you will not have a fire or other malfunctions.

Bad capacitors are cause by age, heat, dust, debris, and manufacture defects. Once you discovered a bad capacitor its all up to you on what you do next. Now you must have some soldering skill to remove and put the new ones in but its pretty easy. What you will need is:

1. Soldering Iron at least 40 to 80 watts.
2. Solder retrieval device
3. Your new capacitors with the correct ratings.
4. A whole lots of patients.

Once your done with your repair fire on your TV and enjoy. This has been another wonderful tip by Rulds2008.

The television Philips amberlight 50PF9631D will not go on and just flashes red, even when unplugged for the duration mentioned and then plugged in. Been having this problem for over a year and now worn the on/off button out trying to turn the t.v on. Please can you advise on how to make my t.v work and also please tell me if there is a recall on this model. Kind regards

No recall, very common problems for LCD and Plasma tvs sets. The problems ur tv are having is it the causes by the tv power supply board. That the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.U have all the tools and know basic electronic aslo can do soldering work too?Yes?Take the tv aparts and check the tv power supply board carefully, searching for dying and soon to be dead components parts are calling capacitors parts. These components capacitors parts are dying and soon to be dead are leaking,it is alway bulges up or puffing up onto it tops. These dying and soon to be dead capacitors parts must be replaced.Replaced those capacitors parts are dying parts with the same Micro Fared and the voltages higher rating like 5 or 10 voltages higher will held up and with stand heat better than those old dying capacitors was in there.Or have the tvs shops services it?Or try Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Take the tv aparts, check the tv power supply board carefully for dying capacitors components parts. These dying soon to be dead capacitors components parts are alway bulged up or puffing up on to it tops. These capacitors components parts are dying and leaking to causes the tv power to unstables and shutdown.Replaced these dying capacitors with same Micro Fared and the voltages higer rating like 5 or 10 voltages higher. These higher voltages rating well help the tv power supply board capacitors components with stand heat better.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

the tv worked normally for a couple of hours and then clicked off, like in standby mode. when i switched it off completely and turned it on again it worked again but only for a short time. now only get sound

Now tv turn on,pictures it flashes only a couple sec. than died have sound left only?Yes,than the tv power supply board, that the board where the tv power a/c cord plug into it.Board it might have dying and dead components parts that are called capacitors.Take the tv aparts.Inspect and check the tv power supply board carefully for dying and soon to be dead capacitors parts, these capacitors parts are alway bulges up or puffing up onto it tops.U have all the tools and know basic electronic also can do basic soldering work too?Yes,replaced all these dying capacitors parts are bulges or puffing up on to it tops capacitors parts with the same Micro Ferit and those capacitors voltages like 5 or 10 voltages higher the old capacitors components parts u replacing, now will solved this problems, also capacitors will last longer and have more heat resistance than before. If the tv power supply board check out and have none dying capacitors components parts that are dying and soon to be dead are bulging or puffing up on to it tops.Than the tv have those 2 long boards each of it sides that are called LCD inverter boards are dead, these 2 long LCD inverter boards only job are to provided the tv LCD screen panel a backlight to produced pictures. If u can't repair the power supply board by ur self,if the tv power supply require it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refrubish power supply board or those 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.

My monitor sync master 540n when i want to use it not come display again keep in on position for half an hour it comes what is the problem

kalyanaramud, Not problem... only poor quality factory soldering of internal electronic components to circuit boards!!!!! 6000 to 10000 "on" / "off" cycles should not cause this problem!!! Inspect the units "switch-mode-power-supply / inverter board for the 1 and 1 only bad solder joint, resolder it and unit should function properly. Let me know what you find when you do inspection of unit. Document work with digital pic's of every step. Notify brand name of filter capacitors inside unit on SMPS / inverter board. 12fixlouie
