Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet
To use your LCD TV as a monitor. look for a HDMI output on the computer and the TV. If you dont have a HDMI output on the computer, you will need to spend approx. $70 for video card and install it. I found "VisionTek Radeon HD 4350" to work fantastic.. Make sure your LCD TV has a HDMI INPUT. If not, you will need a newer TV. All thats needed now is a HDMI CABLE. The cable can be purchased anywhere computers are sold for between approx. $30 to $40. Depending on length. The cables can be found for much less ON-LINE. firefold.com has the cables for approx. $5. and they are the high quality gold plated cables. Now plug the cable into the computer and the TV and then using your tv remote, switch to HDMI and your tv is now a computer monitor. "Note"you may have to make adjustment on computer for display size and quality. My LCD TV is a 46" and the video card described above supports HD full screen. A wireless mouse and key board are a nice feature to add. If you like movies, you can get netflix and stream movies. there are many other sites for streaming and downloading. after doing this with my computer, i dont have a cable bill any more..I hope this tip helps.
