Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

USE YOUR LCD TV AS A COMPUTER MONITOR BY WAY OF HDMI.

To use your LCD TV as a monitor. look for a HDMI output on the computer and the TV. If you dont have a HDMI output on the computer, you will need to spend approx. $70 for video card and install it. I found "VisionTek Radeon HD 4350" to work fantastic.. Make sure your LCD TV has a HDMI INPUT. If not, you will need a newer TV. All thats needed now is a HDMI CABLE. The cable can be purchased anywhere computers are sold for between approx. $30 to $40. Depending on length. The cables can be found for much less ON-LINE. firefold.com has the cables for approx. $5. and they are the high quality gold plated cables. Now plug the cable into the computer and the TV and then using your tv remote, switch to HDMI and your tv is now a computer monitor. "Note"you may have to make adjustment on computer for display size and quality. My LCD TV is a 46" and the video card described above supports HD full screen. A wireless mouse and key board are a nice feature to add. If you like movies, you can get netflix and stream movies. there are many other sites for streaming and downloading. after doing this with my computer, i dont have a cable bill any more..I hope this tip helps.

I have samsung SMB2030 LCD MONITER I wanted to know that it supports which tv tuner card

The output of the tuner card must match the input of your monitor. Assuming it's a fairly recent tuner card, it probably has HDMI output, so your TV must have an available HDMI input. Older tuner cards had VGA outputs which many monitors still utilize, although the display won't be nearly as distinct as with HDMI.

For sure there must be some tv output on your computer..... for example hdmi out..... then you need to use hdmi cable and on tv switch to correct AV input.....
another way is to connect via monitor output, but works only with LCD TVs with monitor input.....

Yes, you can hook up both a Wii and an Apple Computer to this LCD TV. You may need to purchase adapters depending on your Apple Computer's output. This LCD TV has ports for: HDMI, D-sub, Component (YPbPr) input, audio input, SPDIF audio output, and a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

yes , i have a proview 22 inch monitor and i connect it to my xbox 360 using an hdmi to dvi cable . the only problem is with the sound , it dont work what can i do ??i even try connecting speakers into the monitor and it still dont work

How do you connect the XBOX audio line out to the monitor audio input? If the xbox HDMI output is set to send the digital audio through the HDMI cable, you will not get the sound since you are using HDMI to DVI because the DVI is not made to accept the digital audio. You will need to to use the XBOX analog audio output instead feeding the audio cable with mini stereo phone plugs, please read XBOX user manual.

use HF207 as TV monitor

If you have a cable box or something that outputs HDMI, you could. But this monitor has no TV tuner on its own.
