Hi Siszee, Yea, that happens.. it's a microsoft product...;-( simlply restart your mac in safe boot mode ( hold down the shift button immediately upon hearind the startup sound... hold until you see a progress bar under the Apple Logo ) you will be able to login and re-install QuickSilver.. should do the trick.. then restart normally
Open a command prompt after your PC reboots and resumes setup.
- In Windows 2000, wait until the PC begins registering components and then press the "Shift + F10" keys simultaneously.
- In Windows XP, watch the bottom left-hand side of your screen until
you see a progress bar that reads "Installing devices" and then press
the "Shift" and "F10" keys together. This will open a terminal window.
or you can use the window CD,this modify the BIOS in the BOOT
if it dont already have a administrator password. reboot desktop and keep pushing f8 until you see safemode option.try clicking on the administrator. if not password protected then login go to user accounts and click on change an account, then go to the account with the password then remove password. if it does have a password either have to format it or remove hard drive and instal into another deskot as the secondary and take over user rights for that drive to retrieve all your important info then reinstall in desktop and reinstall windows. or if recovery partition do a recovery during boot
Just after you type in your password and before you hut the return key, hold down the shift key, and keep it held until you come up to the desktop. Then examine your startup items (System Preferences / Accounts) and remove whichever one is likely to be hanging your login. If it's not obvious, remove any non-Apple entry and then put them back one by one until you hang again on login; then don't use that one anymore.
