How to Temporally Fix the "Red Ring of Death" for the Xbox 360

Many owners of Microsoft's Xbox 360 have experienced a massive defect known as the "Red Ring of Death." Because of it, Microsoft issued a 3 year warranty on all existing Xbox 360. If your Xbox 360 has gotten the RRoD, I would recommend calling Microsoft to ask for repairs at 1-800-4MY-XBOX.Microsoft will send you a cardboard box through the mail, but in that time, you may want to squeeze as much playing time as you can out of your Xbox 360. You can take a thick towel, lay it out on the ground (or wherever you use your Xbox 360), place the Xbox 360 on top of the towel, and wrap up the Xbox 360 with the towel in a way that you are not covering the back part of it (where you plug in your cables). Then, plug in your Xbox (if it isn't already plugged in) and turn it on while it is wrapped up. Wait for about two minutes until it overheats, and after that, take it out of the towel, let it cool down for ten minutes, and then you can play it for about two days (which is enough time until the box comes). Note that you cannot do this towel trick multiple times. Thanks for my nifty trick!

i have 4 red lights on xbox 360 how do i fix it?

This is known as the 'red ring of death' It is likely that you will need to send in your Xbox to Microsoft for repair. It is possible that you are still covered under warranty. Does the E74 error message appear? See here http://bit.ly/56NTkB

Alternatively Microsoft recommends trying a different set of Audio Video cables.Source http://bit.ly/6eWcLD

Good luck

X-box 360 wont turn on

If the lights are red, this means that your 360 has had a hardware failure. This failure is also known as the "Red Ring of Death." If you have bought your XBOX 360 with in 3 years of posting this, your will still have free 3 years of warranty from Microsoft. Call them at 1-800-4my-xbox. (1-800-469-9269)

Hope this helps :)

Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

"a period of one year (three years for conditions that cause three lights on the ring of light on the front of the Console to flash red) starting as of the date of your sales receipt for the purchase of the Console, or (ii) as applied to an Accessory, a period of 90 days starting as of the date of your sales receipt for the purchase of the Accessory"

So 1 year from the day you buy it of any damage to it.

Then 3 year warranty of the "3 red lights" (red ring of death) couple weeks ago (including me) experienced the 3 red lights, so Microsoft extended everyone's warranty for another 3 years only on the 3 red light issue.

I've only had to send in my 360 1 time and that was of the red lights, other then that no problems.

I hope this helped, also you can connect that Xbox at 1800-4my-xbox for any questions.

Thanks & Good luck!
