Tip & How-To about LG LFX25960ST Stainless Steel French Door Refrigerator

Surge protector for refrigerator power

I installed a surge protector on the electrical outlet that powers my LG refrigerator as recommended by the repair tech after my first warranty repair (refrigerator fan and main board). The board that was replaced actually had a burn mark on it where one of the components had fried.
Standard computer plug strip surge protectors may not be large enough for a refrigerator load. I used a plug-in surge protector that is made for use in offices for copiers and large printers since it has the capacity to handle a refrigerator load. Make sure it is one that does not cut off power so the refrigerator will continue to operate if the protector is overloaded or fails.

How Do Reset My Frigidaire Refrigerator

Said this, I don't mean to "panic" you but if you can't find this "restet" function, your refrigerator suffered a surge effect and might have some electronic cricuir damaged; in best case, some internal security fuse, typical as result of power outage, when power returns.
If you can't find that "reset" call repair service.
By the way, get a surge protector for your refrigerator as soon as possible. See some typica protectors at Amazon, but you can buy one at your local home depot or outlet store.

wont turn on

1.Plug the Inspiron's AC power cord into a power outlet and try to power on the laptop again. By far the most common cause of a laptop's not powering on is a dead battery.
2.Plug the AC adapter into a different outlet to check for a "dead" outlet. If you have the cable plugged into a surge protector, plug the cord into a different slot on the surge protector or "bypass" the surge protector by plugging the cable into an electrical outlet. If the Inspiron now powers on, replace the surge protector or have an electrician examine any "dead" outlets in the home.
3.Open the battery bay on the underside of the Inspiron by sliding the battery bay latch release lock upward and the battery bay latch release to the right. Once both latches are released, the battery bay should open.
4.Remove the battery.
5.Purchase a compatible replacement battery for laptop. Be aware that using an incompatible battery can cause damage to your computer. If you have any doubt as to compatibility, the best option is to purchase the replacement battery directly from your laptop's manufacturer.
6.Install the new battery by following the battery-removal procedure in reverse order. Once the new battery is installed, try again to power on the laptop. If there is still no power, seek professional repair advice.

I hope you find it very helpful.

I did notice the relays on the replacement boards are made by another manufactuer than my original board and they at least look better for whats that worth. I have a feeling these boards are a fast moving parts for andrewselectronics.com and LGUSA.com.They should extend warranty for such a "buggy" board and throw in a redesigned ice maker along the way.Visit andrews and notice that the board is the first listed part in stock available for the fridge at a lofty 300 bucks.might be worth delving into repairing the board in the event the crummy relays are the failed parts on the board as they look and smell to be (hot). also would break the chain with the little board racket LGs got going on....

when plugged, it shorts the surge protector and outlets.

I noticed that my refrigerator, kenmore freezer2_bing.gif, and stove were all not on. This has not ever been a problem before, so I unplugged the surge protector and reset the outlet. I then plugged the refrigerator2_bing.gif and the kenmore freezer to the surge protector and I noticed when I plugged the kenmore freezer it just shorted the surge protector. I then just plugged in the refrigerator and oven to the surge protector with no problems. I tried to plug kenmore freezer to other outlet and same result "a short
