Tip & How-To about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router

Wireless Network Key (WEP/WPA) Recovery

It frequently happens that one loses or forgets his/her wireless network key. Normally this key is cached on your computer and it connects automaticly, but what to do when you have a new computer and you can't remember the key you originally used( and you don't have access to the wireless router) ?

Instead of resetting (the password on) the router you could try and recover the key from another computer on the network which does succesfully connect to the network.

One of the tools which can do this for you is NirSoft WirelessKeyView (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html). It's free, safe and easy in use ... just download the right version (32 bits or 64-bits) onto the computer which does succesfully connect to the network and run it.

The smart phone should work fine on any wireless router. Try going to wireless settings on the phone and if it has your network remember click and hold on your network and select forget network. This should clear out any thing cached about your network. Once that is done try re-connecting to your network and enter any password you may have.

where do i find network key for canon mx340. i am trying to set up wireless connection. I cannot complete wireless connection

The network key is also known as the encryption key or passphrase. It is the password on your wireless network that you have to type in other the computer with a wireless device to connect to the Internet. You normally set it using by connecting to your wireless router using its IP address when it is connected to a computer. Use the Internet to find the default IP address for your wireless router. It is normally in the form 168.192.1.1 or something similar.

Wireless G Plus Mimo

with your router you should be using wpa-tsk encrypted network b/c it is stronger encryption and more friendly than wep (wep is old technology)

also check the keep connection on idle settings and change iti to zero so u don't lose the connection

finally check the firewall settings on the router to make sure its not blocking anything.

good luck
