Tip & How-To about Acer Aspire Computers & Internet

ACER ASPIRE ES 15 wont turn on

- Do a hard reset, remove the battery and AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it will boot up normally. - Next is to test the AC adapter and see if it's supplying enough voltage to power the laptop or better yet try another AC adapter that has the same voltage
If there are lights on the laptop indicating it's on connect an external monitor again and see if you'll get a display.

- Also do try and reseat the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure that they are all seated properly into each slot.
- If all these will not work the problem lies in the motherboard of your laptop.
or take it back to the shop and get them to check it out.

Battery light is on when its not charging. How do I get rid of the lightning strike on the battery. It's not even plugged in to the AC?

You may have information in temporary memory that has not cleared for some reason. Try a hard reset.
The hard reset will not delete saved files on the hard drive.
To perform a hard reset, follow the steps below.
* Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC and remove from any port replicator or docking station.
* Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
* Press and hold down the power button for about 20 seconds.
NOTE: Holding down the power button while the computer is turned off drains any residual charge in the capacitors.
* Insert the batteIry and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC.
*Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.
Good luck!

the laptop will not come on?

Hi.

Try a hard reset. Sometimes it works and is always the first step to take. Remove the battery and the ac adapter plug from the laptop. Press and hold the power button for forty seconds. Install either the battery or ac adapter power and press the power button toattempt a boot into the OS.

Hope this helps. Shiboram

My hp Pavilion dv9700 laptop seems to have lost my dvdw Drive not visible on Explorer. Won't play cd's or dvd's but appears to have power spins discs and clicks and whirs on boot up. Help I can neither play or rip cd's.

Sometimes it is necessary to do a hard reset to erase all of the information in the temporary memory and regain functionality of your PC when it stops responding. For example, doing a hard reset is helpful if your keyboard quits responding, you cannot get your PC to come out of hibernation or sleep mode, or if a software program causes the PC to freeze.
The hard reset will not delete saved files on the hard drive.
