Tip & How-To about Electronics - Others

Note 5 LCD screen

I broke the OEM Note 5 LCD screen on my phone about five months into owning it, and since then have bounced between 4 or 5 different replacement screens. Most screens have been installed by "professionals" (iCracked, etc) although I installed one myself earlier on in the experience. What I've learned is that most screens have (1) really poor color and backlight and (2) poor damage resistance (dropping from nightstand shatters the screen). Fortunately, this is the first screen that has provided adequate color/backlighting as well as damage resistance (I've dropped from nightstand to no ill effect! )#).

G1 wont turn on

The suggestions I have seen for this, (lots of people do have this problem) is take the phone back off pat dry the battery and SIM card and leave it somewhere warm. Don't use a hairdryer. If it sploshed in for literally five seconds you may be alright, longer and the LCD screen will be the problem. You may have to own up, but on ebay you can get phones for as little as £20, so you may be doing a paper round to save up. Next time, leave it on the floor of the bathroom!! Good luck
