DVD player on Polaroid 1913-TDXB is no longer reading DVDs.

I'm not a Tecnition, but in me experiance with D.V.D. players. I've managed to burn out 6 Players as I tend to go to sleep with the player on and they run all night & after taking an expensive one to a repair shop. His profesional opinion & £35 later (The cost of a fairly good NEW player) He told me plainly It was just worn out & not worth repairing. Apparantly the eye of the player is simalar to a light bulb & has a life expectancy limit, even the more expensive players have a life limit.
So if you've try'd the disc head cleaning kit to no avail, it might be time for a new player. I bought my last player for £2 at a car boot sale, that was Six mth's ago & it's still going strong.
Or you could do the same as me & waist £35 or more to get it repaired & how long will that last?
Not realy tec advice just my experiance with up to now Seven machines, all just plain worn out.
All the best.

My dryer will not heat. The pilot comes on and then it lights. The flame goes out and then it keeps recycling like this without the flame. Replaced the sensor but this is not the problem.

check your hi-limit and/or cycling thermostats as they may be going bad(bypass them with a jumper wire) or check for weak gas boost and secondary coils on the gas valve when they get weak they wont hold open the gas valve

I'm really not stupid....really

hi,

you could try a limiter out of an old hairdryer or heater and solder it in and jb weld it to that spot. I did that to ours and it works to this day. I was recycling cans at the recycle center and saw at least 4 or five nearly new washing machines and dryers there, I was in shock, but you might find a limiter there also. Use your own discretion on the fix above and run the machine through several heat cycles. Never run your dryer and leave the house either..

good luck
