Tip & How-To about Canon PIXMA Office Equipment & Supplies

Why is My Canon PIXMA Printer Printing Blank Pages

Here are some causes and related solutions that can prevent you from printing using your Canon PIXMA.
Verify Paper Loading

Firstly, you should check the mechanism of paper loading for your Canon printer. Make sure that you're not overloading the feeder or paper tray with extra pages simultaneously and that you have used the correct paper type and size of the device. The volume of the paper tray and compatible media types should be present in the manual documentation of your printer. The cheap paper may twig in the paper tray; therefore if you are doubtful at such time, you should try to use the different brand printer. You can take the help of Canon experts also.

Check Pagination

Also, test the layout settings and pagination for the application from which you're printing your documents. If only one program outputs are blank pages, then the settings are likely to be the reason of that problem. Use the print preview feature of the particular program to find for blank pages and pagination issues. Spreadsheet programs, for instance, often allow users to describe the spreadsheet area to be printed. Make sure that the whole pages are sent to the Canon printer include the content you suppose, as you search for blank slides in the presentation.

Download Latest Drivers

If the issues still exist and blank pages are generated from more than one program, try to download and install the updated version of drivers from the Canon's official site. You will typically be prompted to specify your model number and the operating system to find the right files. When you install the new drivers, check the compatibility between your Canon printer and the driver programs to fix bugs and common printer problems. If you find any difficulties in installing correct drivers, contact Canon printer support number to know the stepwise process of installation.

Reinstall the Printer

Another way for troubleshooting the problem with blank pages is to remove the printer from your system, and then reinstall it again. The re-installation process changes the critical files that have been deleted or corrupted and resets the settings of your printer all at once. To remove a printer, you should go to the Windows 'Start' button and choose the 'Devices and Printers' option. Right-click the 'Canon printer' option and then select the 'Remove.' Once the removal procedure has completed, install your Canon printer again by following the steps in the documentation. If your printer has the USB feature, then connecting the device is enough to start the installation process.

error 6A00 on the Canon Pixma MP970

Hello and Welcome

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon Pixma MP970 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP,lexmark & other ink jet printers,is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you 'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

canon pixma mp780 auto feed does not print

You probably need a new printhead, but that problem cann also be caused by the purge or cleaning station not working properly. If you do a cleaning cycle with no carts. and the little pads in the printhead come back with no ink on them then the purge is working and you need a new printhead.

And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement. A Pixma MP830 would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidently, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model. And its always a paper path error or purge unit.
