Tip & How-To about Amazon Kindle

How to update you Amazon Kindle?

Step-by-step guide to Update Kindle

The Amazon Kindle update is also necessary to keep the security tight on the devices so that there is no data leaks or intrusion of any kind.
  1. If you are aware of the Kindle model you are using, then you can proceed with the next step, but if not, then you have to find out which Kindle model you are handling right now. Go check it out on the official Kindle website now.
  2. The next step is to find out the firmware. You can go to the settings menu and click on device info. You can find the firmware version there.
  3. Download the updates on your PC or laptop and then, transfer the files on your Kindle by connecting a USB cable.
  4. Once the files have been transferred, then you need to go to settings menu again and click on 'Update my Kindle' option. Your screen will flicker a few times, and you will see a progress bar as well, where you can find out how much time is left. You can update Kindle Fire, Kindle Paperwhite and the standard Kindle version in this particular way.
  5. While installing the updates, make sure that only one update is installed at a time.

I have a 2011 kindle fire, and it won't display a lot of web pages. Is there an update? Or some other fix?

Step 1: Hard Reset: Press and hold the power button for 20 seconds and then release.

Step 2: Power it back on: Wait until the device has completely turned off, then press the power button to restart your Kindle Fire.

If the above doesn't work, Amazon recommends that you try charging the Kindle Fire longer and then trying the hard reset again.

If you still can't get your device to work, you can contact Amazon at either amazon.com/contact-us or by phone at the numbers below:

amazon kindle suport web page

If I understand you correctly, you have a new Kindle Fire HD and would like to transfer the data from your old Kindle Fire to your new Kindle Fire HD. This is easy, follow these steps:
Step 1: Connect the old Kindle to Wireless. Pull down the upper status bar, select More + and then select My Account on the old Kindle
Step 2: Using the Old Kindle, select Deregister under My Account, let the task complete
Step 3: When the old Kindle has Deregistered, then pickup the new Kindle. If you accidentally registered this Kindle Deregister it and then Factory Reset the device.
Step 4: Now the old Kindle is Deregistered and the new Kindle is factory Fresh, let's begin the process.
Step 5: On the new Kindle, let's reboot after Factory Resetting the device. When the device powers back up you should be presented with a login Window. Go ahead and register the device to the same account as the Old Kindle. The sync process should begin automaticlly, it can take up to one full day to sync all your content.

my kindle keeps freezing

In most cases, to avoid freezing, keep battery charged and turn off wireless when it's not being used. To properly reset, hold power switch to the right for 15 seconds.

Resetting the device is not a bad thing, most electronic devices need it to be done. It can be annoying, but it's not fatal.

I would keep track of how many times you need to reset the device. Once the amount get over a few times per day, honestly, I would call Kindle Support. They've got the necessary software to look further into your Kindle.
