Hi tjgcs

You don't say which Operating System you use, so my answer will be presented in general, Windows terms. If yours is a non-Windows Operating System and my answer seems to be of some relevance to you, please consider applying the logic and principles involved here to your own Operating System and, if in doubt, please feel free to add a Comment or Clarification to this Question. Please include information about the type, model and specification of your computer and its Operating System. Doing so helps us makes faster, more accurate and more assured Remote Diagnostics leading to better quality and more useful Advice, Answers, Guidelines , How-Tos and Solutions.

You also don't say where you bought the computer and how old it is.

A more easily solved potential cause of the same symptoms could be poor contact between the physical hard drive and the motherboard (possible result of a drop or a knock dislodging cable connectors). If so this is easily fixed by opening the computer and checking both the data cable and power cable connected to the Hard Drive.

Alternatively, it might be that the Hard drive is not configured properly in BIOS. Check the IDE/SATA Settings are correct for you format of hard drive. Check that the Boot sequence gives the hard drive with the operating system on it the correct Boot priority.

Make sure there are no CDs, Floppy Disks, Memory cards or USB Memory Sticks in the optical or Floppy Disk drives, Card Reader slots or USB Ports that could be interrupting the Boot process.

If none of these apply then the Hard Drive might be faulty and need replacing.

I hope this helps.

Since you have not revealed you Operating System, I cannot be sure but it seems your capture card may be RevB (Revision B) and if RevB is the same as Rev2, then only XP Drivers seem to exist for it. If your Operating System is not XP, maybe this is the problem.

In any event, look here for further guidance on the exact model:
