How can i repair a crack in my hard case swiss cargo roof rack carrier?

I would use fiberglass (resin, hardener + cloth) on the inside after thoroughly scuffing (and if necessary drilling reinforcing holes) the carrier surface. If after doing that the exterior is not to your liking you could remove any loose material, fill any low areas with auto body filler, sand smooth, and paint. This type of repair will be watertight and likely stronger than the original piece. I have done similar repairs on fiberglass, plastic, carbon fiber, and wood. If the carrier is smooth plastic I would recommend drilling small holes along that crack to allow for a better bond. If it is fiberglass carbon fiber or another composite course scuffing should suffice.

What materials are whitewater helmets made out of?

The best and safest whitewater helmets are made out of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and composite polymers. Plastic helmets are not recommended even though plastic was the main material for helmets for decades.

valves rattle during acceleration, does it have tension adjusters on it

Hydraulic lifters on your model, there are cam chain tensioners sometimes those go bad, I would go by a Kawasaki dealer and get a product they brand under the Kawasaki name called carbon clean, you might have a carboned up engine, stuff really works, Yamaha also sells the same product there’s is called ring free.
