Tip & How-To about Jenn-Air Ovens

Jenn-Air Oven 4D22 Fan Error

I was troubleshooting one of these error codes on a Jenn-Air oven and followed all the repair recommendations. Most service techs recommend replacing the fan, speed sensor and making sure everything is clean. I did all this and it made no difference. After a bit more troubleshooting I found the temperature sensor to be bad. I replaced the temperature sensor and the fan fault code disappeared and the oven worked normally.

What does the code F1-1 mean on Jenn-Air downdraft model?

If you see the F1-1 error code, I recommend that you continue to use the Quick Test to display the temperature sensed by the probe in the oven. If that temperature is way off, I recommend that you shut off the house circuit breaker for the range and check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe. The second image below shows how to access that component. Measure the resistance of the sensor with a volt/ohm meter. It should measure about 1100 ohms at room temperature (75 degrees). I provided a temperature/resistance chart in the first image. If the resistance of the probe is bad, then you will need to replace that component (part number 12001656).

You can order parts from the Sears PartsDirect website. If the sensor probe is okay, you will probably need to replace the control board in the console. I recommend that you have a service technician replace this component.

Hope helps.

Good evening. Have a repair tech that cannot figure out problem and is trying to upsell to a new oven. We have a whirlpool rbs275pdb11 whirlpool oven that we replaced both the control board and the thermal base (?) and are still receiving the error message E1-F2. We cleaned all the connections, the ribbon, etc. Husband is an electrician and he checked all voltage. The tech that came out did not know how to fix and said we now need to replace the keypad (front portion of oven) but still no guarantee it would work. That is when he tried to sell us a new oven. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

F2-E1 - Touch Pad (Keypad) Cable Unplugged -
Check the connection between the touch pad (keypad) and control board (clock) to make sure it is secure.
Select the 'cancel' function and wait 60 seconds.
If error code reappears then replace the touch pad, or touch pad and control board (clock) if all one assembly.

It appears your timer/clock has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.%%^*(
