someone hacked into my system and changed my windows password, now I cannot access anything on my own pc. It is a Pavillion Slimline

Boot your system with the bootable system recovery CD that either came with the system or you
created soon after initial boot-up. It'll allow you to create a system administrator password as
it reloads your operating system.
If you're running WinXP, it'll then need to have its (4) Microsoft service packs re-loaded.
If you're running, WinVista, it'll then need to have its (2) Microsoft service packs re-loaded.
Each of these service packs are free from
Note that microsoft terminated support for WinXP SP2 (Service Pack 2) on 13-Jul-2011.

Depends on who you ask. Microsoft will tell you they did. Apple will tell you that Microsoft stole the original ideas, and even some source code for Windows from their graphical Operating System. Xerox will tell you that Apple had stolen the idea from them and their graphical operating system in the first place.

I believe Xerox.

Most of the people above me are thinking of the creation of DOS, the text-based operating system that preceded Windows and Windows was based on--they're not the same.

Do not have disc to download. Can I find on line?

It all depends on what operating system you're trying to install. Linux-based systems can almost always be found for free online for download. Snow Leopard systems you'll need the disc for. As for Microsoft, you can only install your OS with a disc. You can try to contact Microsoft support to ask them if they can electronically give you a copy, but other than that, you'll probably need the hard copy to install it legally.

I just bought Intel ATOM D425 MB. I installed winxp. Everything ok. But Network drivers not installed. In device manager it shows as unknown device. I searched the Intel site. They dont also have the LAN driver for XP. Please help

OF COURSE there are no Windows XP networking drivers for this Intel motherboard. WinXP was released in 2001; this motherboard wasn't even DESIGNED until XP had already been replaced by Windows Vista and Windows 7. Why would Intel ever bother to make drivers for an OLD operating system for NEW hardware?

You bought NEW hardware; you need a NEW operating system to make it work. If you want to use XP, you won't be able to do any networking with this system. If you want to be able to network this system, you'll need to buy a modern operating system for the modern hardware.

I know this isn't the answer you want to hear, but you also won't find Microsoft writing a NEW operating system to work with my OLD AMD 386DX-40 motherboard. Of course, you can always complain to Intel and Microsoft, but that won't change the reality. You have NEW hardware, which is great, but NO ONE is going to design and write NEW drivers for an OLD operating system to work with your new system.
