Steel Tube is an integral part of the tubing systems. Tube systems around the world involve connections which are provided by tube fittings. Steel Tube is consumed in bulk and provide for onward transmission of liquids and gases.
Steel Tube are designed keeping four aspects in mind:
Steel Tube Manufacturer are designed to have the highest Pressure rating which defines the maximum pressures the tube is designed to withstand.
Tube are also designed to have high vacuum which is the maximum vacuum pressure that can be created in the tube.
Tube are designed on bend radius. The Minimum bend radius is a rating based on the acceptable amount of deformation the tubing cross-section can undergo.
And finally the most important aspect is the Temperature range, which defines the full range of various temperatures that the tubing is designed to operate within.
Tube can be connected to tube fitting by swaging the ferrule to the nuts and tubes.

need to replace right rear brake tube on 1999 Buick century custom

first measure the length of the steel tube to be replaced and diameter of tube cut off each end at the fitting so you can remove that fitting with a 6 sided socket. this will keep the fitting from stripping off the flats on the fitting next spray bleeder with wd40 to help open it so you can bleed the system after you replace that line . take your time with the bleeder as it will twist off if not fully freed up

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

If the original y-fitting is ok. Just get yourself a piece of heater hose. The auto store may have heater hose on a roll, You may need to tell them the ID and how long, they just cut a length for you and you use hose clamp. I'm not sure what you bought/an assembly? Maybe you can take it back and just get a piece of hose? Of course, I can't see anything from here?
I did find this picture.

Plastic hose connection to water valve is leaking.

The fitting is called a John Guest fitting. It has a couple of o-ring seals inside. Once the tube is pushed into one end it is locked in. To remove, push in on the tube (opposite of what you would think to remove) then hold down on the ring around the tube, then pull out. There is a good description on this website below
