Tip & How-To about Vehicle Parts & Accessories

"OFF" HEADLIGHT CLEANING

If you plan on restoring your headlight lenses, give this a try. A friend gave me this tip and I have done it 2x. If you have the typical plastic headlights you can try OFF bug spray to clear them up nicely and it only takes literally, a minute. Make sure they are not hot and clean. I simply fold up paper towels (2-3 sheets) to 1/2 size. Dampen the paper towel pretty good with the Off. Right away wipe over the headlamp. Try to do a simple wipe like you would wiping up a spill on the counter. Do not take but a couple seconds. That is it. Be careful around the cars paint. I used OFF deep woods. Good luck.

Lexus doesn't sell a lens polishing kit for that thing (lol), but they (supposedly) make lense replacements (or if not you can bet there is an after-market one available for your camera/aperature (all that good stuff). Your Lex is still too new for lots of those parts being available outside the dealership, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask ANY camera shop if they can regrind your lense? (hmmm?) I'd think I'd go that route rather than pay big bucks at the Dealership.

Are you sure the bulbs are dim? Could the problem be faded lenses? If so, like most of today's plastic lenses, get yourself a lens restoration kit and follow the instructions.
