Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Simple ways to upgrade your PC

Are you on a tight budget but need a faster computer? Here's a short set of tips that guarantee a super-fast computer (more than 10 times your current experience).

Windows is not as slow as you think, in fact; Windows is amazingly fast and supports older hardware so well. So here are your upgrade choices:

1. Get a Solid state harddrive (SSD), in my experience; to save money get a 60 - 120gB SSD from Amazon, ebay, newegg etc; keep your heavy files on an external drives; stuff you access once in a while. An SSD will make your PC like 10 to 15 times normal speeds!
2. Add some extra RAM if you can, 4GB RAM modules are affordable these days, double on what you have.

You will be amazed at the speed of your 'old' PC!! This in fact is why MACs appear faster; they all come with the SSD drives and embedded chips.

how do I recover data lost by 'short formatted' my coby mp620-2G

Try the software "recover my files".Google it.Install the software on your computer. Then connect your device.Once your computer detects it as a disk drive, run the software. It should be able to recover some of your files. No guarantees though but worth a try. Also there are other software that does the same job.Good luck.

My 2001 1200 C Custom Sportster won't turn over, it just clicks. I've changed the spark plugs and am currently having the battery checked. If it is not the battery, what might be my other options?

9 times out of 10 its the battery ,, have them LOAD check it before you put it back in, Harleys take a ton of amps to turn over, everything else will work, but no go on starting. Also, once running, short trips will drain the battery fast,, My harley mechanic told me for each start I need 30 minutes of drive time to fully recharge the battery , One dead cell in the battery will cause this to worsen 10 times, make sure all connections are clean and tight

I have a 2004 pontiac sunfire with a few problems. First, when I turn the ignition to start the car all I get is a fast-paced clicking sound from the dash area and the engine doesnt even turn over. This usually happens when it's hot out or when I drive the car around. I am not able to get any parts til this upcoming week so I have to push-start my car when this happens. So for about a week Ive been push starting my car and now my car won't keep an idle. When I push in the clutch the rpms drop and my car almost dies then it raises back up to where it usually idles. Half the time it dies when that happens. These problems aren't constant, they only happen every other time I turn on my car. With the car not starting I have a feeling it's the solenoid overheating, but that's just me. About the car not keeping idle I have no idea. I never worked on a car with efi before and all the other cars I've worked on are carbed. I have a very tight budget also. Thanks in advance for any helpful solutions.

as fo the idle, there is a IAC ( idle air control to maintain idle. you may have to remove this and clean the carbon out of it, and the intake as well. as for the clicking there are 3 solutions to fix it. battery if it is ok, the solinoid is bad on starter or the starter itself. but it does sound like a bad starter solinoid, because a bad battery will make the same clicking from solinoid. but make sure battery is ok first. when engine is off voltage at battery should be at least 12.6 or better. when running and alternator is ok, it should read about 14.2 to 14.7 if lower then 14 volts alt. is bad. have a very good day !! hope this helps!

my snes freezes when i play super mario world every time i get a coin or hit the blocks my game freezes. I thought it was the game at first so I bought another super mario world and It has the exact same problem.

Well maybe the console needs to be cleaned out esspecially if its filled up with dust and dander.
Dust causes video game consoles to over heat 10 times faster than their normal heating rates.
To clean out the console use a canned duster like for computers.
