Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

Useful keyboard shortcuts for MAC

You can use standard PC keyboards on your MAC. The Magic Mouse is such a sweet piece and apple keyboard is awesome; but there are times you don't have them.

So plug in your PC keyboard and MAC OS first assists you in getting it setup by asking you to tap the SHIFT key; after doing that you are set up.

So here are some useful tips:

1. Switch/Slide between fullscreen desktops: CTRL + left, CTRL + right
2. View the desktop: F11 (this doesnt work when you have a full screen desktop)

3. Add desktops and multitask fullscreen: CTRL + UP; then click the plus sign. select any desktop or CTRL + down to return to your last screen

4. The apple Command key == the windows logo button so to:
Copy: Window logo +c
Paste: Window logo + V
Undo: Window logo + z
5. Copy screen area/take snap shot or area: Window(command)+shift+4, then use the cursor to draw the area you need
6. Take full screen snapshot (instantly): Window(command)+shift+3
Summarily; whatever you do with the command key is mapped to the PC keyboard's window key.

Thanks and enjoy your MAC with your standard PC keyboard.

how to connect a wireless mighty mouse to a macbook pro

There should be software if it is a Apple Magic mouse, install software, then turn bluetooth on for mouse, unless your mac doesnt have bluetooth, then you need a USB bluetooth adapter.

I have a brand new I-Mac with Snow Leopard. I just bought a Gear Head KBL8000WRBT keyboard and mouse set. I started with the mouse. The computer recognizes it, but won't pair with it.

Since iMacs are not primarily designed to run with equipment like this (They can run it, but the equipment usually says 'No! I don' know what you are!') Try using the apple Magic mouse. (I'm not sure if they have a W/L keyboard.)
