If your dell 5100cn or 5110cn printer is displaying "Replace Imaging Drum 091-935" or "Imaging Drum Replace Soon 094-402" you should in fact replace the imaging unit. The part number is 310-5811.

Our Dell 5110cn stopped working and the 'diagnostic' said to replace the transfer roller. I had purchased a Dell Imaging Drum and replaced that. I believe it has a transfer roller as part of the Imaging Drum-they look the same. I followed the directions but the printer is still saying 'Transfer roller'. I have tried restarting it but it is still inoperable. Help!

Dell sells the drum & transfer roller a kit, but there are 2 different parts to it, the drum & the transfer roller & they do not look the same. Replacing the drum does NOT replace the transfer roller. We've had a 5110cn for 4 years, I've replace both of these parts & the fuser unit several times.

Unable to remove imaging drum - Dell 5110cn Color Printer

When you open the front cover it is possible for the transfer roller assembly to remain latched against the imaging drum assembly, making it impossible to pull out the imaging drum. The drum should lift out very easily. If it doesn't, try closing the imaging drum cover and then the front cover (ie: put everything back the way it was). Then open the front cover again, pressing firmly on the front cover latch. When open, check that the transfer roller assembly stayed with the front cover and swung out of the way of the imaging drum (you may have to swing it yourself. When the front cover has opened properly, the imaging drum's cover will unlatch easily and the drum can be pulled out.

I hope this helps someone! I had to say many bad words before I figured this out. Good thing I had a second 5100cn handy to look at for comparison. - B.Till
