how to reset samsung mobile when pattern lock is forgot

It depends on your model, Samsung phone hard reset are different for different model. If your samsung model have a hardware home button, press the volume + home button and power button until you see the samsung logo, let go. You should be in the recovery mode.
If it's a model with capacitive touch, press and hold (with the phone off all the time) volume +, volume - and power until you feel a small vibration, let go of the power button, but keep holding the volume rocker until you get to recovery.
Once in recovery, scroll down to "Wipe data/cache" or something along those lines. Highlight it and press the power button, go back one step highlight Reboot Phone, and you should be good to go.
