I have alot of Case pocket knives and the blades on some are starting to become loose and have too much wiggle when blade is out. How can i fix this

I have tapped the bolster pivot pin with a small hammer to tighten loose knife blades, but you have to be careful not to scar the knife or smack the bolster pin too hard or the blade will seize and be hard to open or close. If the pin has been necked by the blade (worn in the middle where the blade contacts the pivot pin, you'll have to replace the pin.

Hello.... I have a 1999 Sunfire and i havent used the cigerette lighter in years it now has rust in the inside and i was wonder how can i get the rust out of the lighter socket or should i just replace it with a new one

whatever you do, remove the power to the lighter before you do it!
If you can get to the mounting nut and the push on lug behind the panel, unplug it, unscrew & remove the lighter. The imports are dirt cheap & the only minor problem you may encounter is a round & flat power plug/socket. If you can not get to it, (95% chance) disconnect the red (larger) terminal of the car battery. Scratch insides of lighter socket with screwdriver & pocket knife. Concentrate on getting fresh shiny metal on the rear central pin. This gets rusted because of the heat from the lighter element. The sides can be scraped easily. Now spray with an oily rust inhibitor or just rub insides with a small greased cloth. Reconnect the battery & try.

I have borrowed an old Black & Decker electric knife that has 2 blades with it. I don't know how to use it? both blades look the same, but you only have one it at one time don't you?

You use both blades together.. On one blade is a (should be) a small metal knob sticking out from the side. On the other is a matching hole. Hold the blades crossed at 90 deg. Lock the knob into the hole on the other and slide blades parrallel, side by side. Both blades should now slip into the slots in handle and lock into place. They will not be exactly level with each other. One will stick out further.. Plug in power, and push run button.. Blades slide back and forth against each other, just hold sharp side against the meat, and push button.. Cuts like butter..
To remove for cleaning, there should be a small button near where the blades lock in, on the bottom (?) push to release blades.. for washing.

remove oxide stains from a pocket knife blade

you could try a very weak solution of acid and water mix making sure not to scratch the blade, when the stain is removed smear a film of light oil over the blade hope this helps smirf617

Pocket watch stem is broken.

To open the front, try a toothpick in the hole. You will need to get the stem replaced.

To open the back:
Flip the watch over and look around the edge. There will be small slots. A thin blade like a pocket knife will open the back cover. Carefully, put the knife blade into the slot and twist it open. There isn't much user serviceable stuff inside.
