Tip & How-To about Miscellaneous

Storing your Scooter or Power Chair

If you are storing a Power Chair or Scooter for a long period of time. Remove the batteries and put the frame on blocks to take the pressure off the wheels. Not put the vehicle on blocks may result in having flat spots on the wheels after storage.

For winterizing, charge the batteries up over night and disconnect the batteries from the vehicle wiring. Put the frame up on blocks to prevent flat spots. Cover vehicle with an old sheet, then a piece of plastic or tarp. When the storage time is over reconnect the batteries and charge them overnight. You should be ready to go once again. By the way removing the blocks before you drive is understood as common sense. Scooter Doctor App

scooter store wheel chair sat uncharged for a year. Now the battery wont recharge and operate.

Batteries left uncharged for that long will go bad and will need to be replaced. If you plan on not using the scooter for long periods try to plug it in once a week for 24 hours.

Does anyone have a link for the battery charger for a Scooter Store Jet 3 mobility scooter that defines the different light meanings. The scooter is 6 years old but before I purchase new batteries ($112.00 shipped) I just want to determine if there are other problems that all lights flashing indicates. The chair manual refers to the charger manual.

saying to refer to the manual provided with the charger for a complete indication of these indicators do you happen to have a make or a model number on the charger or the manual? if you dont have the charger manual you may want to try calling this number its the scooter store and they can send you one for your charger and also answer any questions that you have Thanks again

i have an electric scooter chair that would charge, do i need to replace the battery? i had not charged it for about a year and i think the batteries are drained. I tried to charge it and it is not holding a charge

Hi. Sounds very much as if your batteries need replacing. Batteries loose there ability to hold a charge if they are left for long periods of time.
Some times repeated charging and discharging will help, but will not be as good as new ones. Good luck. Neil.
