Tip & How-To about Enphase Energy M175 Micro-inverter
Enphase no longer will deal with failed equipment that has been installed by home owners, they insist that you contact your installer. If you are the installer you left out in the cold for warranty's. One of my M175's failed, I decide to fix it myself since I am a retired design engineer. Fist look I found the MOV G5 had smoked. So I reversed engineered the output section and made a schematic. I found that one of the for optic isolators U72 used to drive one of the four output triac's had failed ( the root cause of the failure). This caused Q17 FET & D15 to fail, D44 and D45 rectifier to fail and the commutation SCR D78 to fail. Replaced all failed AND I AM BACK ON LINE. All standard parts at Digi-Key.
