will not read disc

The disc may be too scratched up for the console. Try to clean the Disc with a microfiber cloth (or something that won't scratch it) and use a dvd lens cleaner on it to remove smudges.
If the disc is in good condition, then the laser on the Wii may be wearing out. That means that you will have to send the Wii to Nintendo to get it fixed or find someone who has Wii parts and knows how to take apart and repair a Wii.

wii won't eject disc

Please unplug your wii. Then plug the wii back in and push the eject button for about 10 seconds, the disc should eject at that point in time.

what can i do when the console won't read a disc?

You need to replace your laser. They are less then $10 on ebay. And a tri wing screw driver and a small phillips screw driver and a video on youtube showing how to take apart a wii console. Take the shell off and the dvd drive is right there.
