Repair the power supply of a security system

Today I have repaired an AC adapter which 12 volts and 5 amps, the user first wanted his system box at the garbage place I know that the little system usually nothing wrong degree but the food is glued shut, but 99% of all cases it is internal to these power adapters there are usually two broken capacitors, it is precisely because these surveillance systems are often 24 hours a day to stand. the capacitor capacitance no automatic self-healing cap form one of them was leaking and the other was topped convex. The plastic house can be opened with a bench hammer on the glued seam around rapping and then you can usually afterwards the affair glue with superglue. expenses was less than 2 euros a number of capacitors bought at a dump is very convenient. So first of all, remember that you can often restore the power adapter easily. and not quickly conclussie pulls the basic device for camera surveillance is defective which is usually thought to be something wrong degree.

How can i hook up a car stereo in the garage without using a car battery, and get the same juice as far as wattage and power???

Wire a 12 volt AC adapter to it. Connect the power to the positive wire, & the ground to the negative wire. If it's a low power unit a 1 amp adapter will work. If it's a high powered unit you might need a 12 volt 5-10 amp adapter designed for monitors, TVs, monitors, & some laptops. Beware some laptop AC adapters can be 16-36 volts. Make sure you use a 12 volt one, & know which wire is positive, or you'll burn it out.

Power adapter of Avocent SwitchView® 1000

All power adapters usually have a label on the bottom of the adapter that show voltage and current for both the input and output connector, unless that label has been removed. Your KVM switch may have the voltage and current requirements printed on a label on the bottom of the device.

Can I use a 5 amp 240v AC domestic fuse to replace 5 amp 12v fuse

A fuse is rated for it's current carrying capacity so yes you can use a 240 volt 5 Amp fuse in a 12 Volt circuit.
The Voltage is given to indicate the insulation of the fuse, i.e. if you used a 12 volt fuse in a 240 Volt circuit it may arc and therefore is not suitable. You can always use a fuse with a higher voltage rating in a lower voltage rated circuit.
A 5 Amp fuse will carry 5 Amps indefinately and will only blow at 2 or three times it's rated current.
